Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu announced today a few parties including his own have planned on approaching the Supreme Court to oppose the use of EVMs.

The decision was taken during the post-rally meeting at Sharad Pawar’s house yesterday.

His party, Telugu Desam Party has been demanding to get away with the EVMS and instead go back to the old paper ballot system for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

Meanwhile, the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has expressed that most parties" believe in the EVMs regretting that some were making it a part of their own manifest slugfest.

Naidu informed his party workers that the opposition parties have decided to forge a pre-election alliance and work with a common minimum programme.

In a press release, Naidu said, "Our talks with national parties have been successful,".

He didn’t mention whether his party will form an alliance with Congress in Andhra Pradesh.

Congress has already announced that it would contest the Lok Sabha and the state Assembly elections alone.
