• No talks with Owaisi by DMK Minority wing secretary Masthan
  • Its media’s speculation
  • AIMIM will not participate in DMK –Led meet on Jan 6th

Chennai: Ending weeks long  speculations about DMK, AIMIM alliance, supporters of Stalin said it is a baseless allegation. DMK denied that it is inviting AIMIM for conference held by DMK led on January 6th in Chennai.

It was speculated in national media that DMK’s minority wing secretary Masthan had talks with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday for alliance with his party in upcoming assembly elections 2021.The matter was also confirmed by TN AIMIM President Vakkil Ahmed. Soon as the news came in national electronic media, Vakkil Ahmed changed his statement and denied the news. Even Masthan said that it is false news and if any meeting regarding alliance with AIMIM has to take place, that will be chaired by Stalin, but not by him alone.

The DMK is expecting to win the assembly elections after Super Star Rajinikanth dropped out of his political plans. The DMK does not want to take any chance at this juncture which will impact the winning chances in TN.

They strongly believe that AIMIM is the main reason for the defeat of RJD in recent Bihar Assembly elections. They believe that the AIMIM is ‘B team’ of the BJP. This allegation was rejected by Owaisi who said his party is mainly focussing of winning Muslims’ trust but not of other parties.

AIMIM has  a plan to contest for 25 to 30 seats in Northern TN where they feel they have strong presence. AIMIM TN Party President is busy with surveys  in constituencies where party can win more seats. Right now DMK is allied with IUML and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi. We have to see how AIDMK will deal with other parties in near future.
