New Delhi: Delhi is witnessing lakhs of farmers protesting for the past 29 days with a demand to repeal the three new farm laws. In support to them, top senior congress delegates gave a call to march towards Rashtrapati Bhavan to submit a memorandum against farm laws which was signed by nearly 2 crore farmers across country. They were stopped by Delhi police and were detained before meeting Ramnath Kovind. Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, K.C.Venugopal,Randeep Singh Surjeewala were in the list who were stopped by police.

Senior leaders strongly objected to the police action and termed as “violation of rights”. They felt that the party shall be allowed to voice the concerns of the main opposition.

Its duty to listen to farmers and the reasons behind protests. They are answerable to the people of the country, they have to listen and find a resolution, Priyanka Gandhi vodra said addressing media.

New Farm laws are termed as anti-farmer and undemocratic by the Congress party which started signature campaign in September. They were all loaded in trucks in boxes and brought to Delhi. After seeing these, Surjeewala came on Twitter by saying ‘Today is a big day in fight for farmers justice..Those who feed will win, and arrogant Modi will lose.
