Assuring the Kapu community in the State that YSRCP government would live up to the promises made to them during the hustings, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said no decision was being taken vis-a-vis Kapu reservations as Supreme Court judgments were prevented them from doing so.

The Chief Minister was responding to a poser from the Leader of Opposition Chandrababu Naidu as to what was the stance of YSRCP government towards Kapus' welfare. He responded at length on this issue in the Assembly.

Stating that the question of reservation solely remained under the purview of the Centre, he pointed out that Rs 2,000 crore was earmarked for Kapu Corporation in the annual budget as per the promise made to the community during his Padayatra.

The Chief Minister also launched a scathing attack on Chandrababu Naidu and the TDP. Kapus were cheated by Chandrababu Naidu and his government after promising them reservations and to bring them under the category of Backward Classes. "What Chandrababu has done for Kapus is an absolute zero," he hit out.
