Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 14th G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan on 28th and 29th of this month.

Former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu will be India's sherpa at the summit. Briefing media in New Delhi on Friday, Mr Prabhu said food security, energy security, financial stability, terrorism-related issues, Innovation in the digital economy and artificial intelligence will be discussed. The theme of the summit is "Human-centred future society".

More than 20 countries will be participating in the G20 Summit. Informal meeting of the BRICS leaders and bilateral meetings with other leaders would also take place on the sidelines of the summit.

The Summit under the Japanese Presidency is centred around the theme "Human centred future society”. The issues under discussion at the summit include Free trade and economic growth, global economy including taxation, finance, Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence; Inclusive and Sustainable World; Energy and Environment, Society 5.0, Quality infrastructure, Global Health, Aging, Climate change, and Marine plastic waste. The Summit will also adopt a declaration.

India has participated in all the G20 Summits held so far. It will host the G20 summit in 2022 for the first time.
