In between its growing rumblings in the Karnataka Congress, the party dissolved its unit in the southern state on Wednesday. It, however, retained its president and working president.

A statement was issued by the AICC (All India Congress Committee) general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal saying:

"The AICC has decided to dissolve the present committee of (the) Karnataka Pradesh Congress. The president and working president remain unchanged."

Issues in the Karnataka Congress have been observed ever since the Lok Sabha poll defeat in the state. Another issue in its state unit has been its problems with coordination in its coalition (Congress-Janata Dal (Secular)) government in the state.

The differences of the coalition government have also given rise to voices of dissent from the Karnataka Congress. According to News18, two members of the Congress were recently inducted in the Karnataka cabinet.
