Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General  Bipin Rawat paid tributes to martyred  Lance Naik Mohammad Jawed by laying a wreath at Palam Airport in New Delhi today. Yesterday, he was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries in ceasefire violation in Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Lance Naik Jawed was killed when Pakistani troops resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation on the Line of Control on Monday, June 10, at 5 pm. He was critically injured in the attack and later succumbed to his injuries.  

He hailed from Marrar village in Khagaria district in Bihar and is survived by his wife

 In a tweet, Mr Singh said " I salute India’s brave son and soldier, Lance Naik Mohammad Jawed who made the supreme sacrifice while serving the nation. His gallant deeds and devotion to duty will never be forgotten. We stand in solidarity with his bereaved family."
