After the swearing-in ceremony ended on Thursday, former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj wrote an emotional message on Twitter, thanking PM Narendra Modi.
In her Tweet in Hindi, she wrote:
"Prime Minister, you gave me an opportunity to serve our countrymen and overseas Indians as the Foreign Minister for five years and personally, also, gave me respect throughout my tenure. I am very grateful to you. I pray that our government becomes very successful."
Swaraj didn’t contest the elections this year as she decided to opt out of the government due to her health issues.
On Thursday, PM Narendra Modi and 25 MPs took oath at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in a grand ceremony. The event was attended by a lot of heads of states, heads of governments, constitutional authorities, diplomats, senior political leaders, government officials, celebrities and media persons.
