For this sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, the Central Government has deployed 770 Battalions of the Central Armed Police Forces (CRPF) and State Armed Police (SAP) personnel.

Many cases of violence were recorded during the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal, therefore the Election Commission has ordered to deploy a large number of the army during the gradual phase of elections. 

Elections are being held on Sunday in eight constituencies of West Bengal - Tamluk, Kantighathal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and Bishnupur.

For the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal, the Central Government has deployed 770 companies of the Central Security Armed Police Forces (CRPF) and State Armed Police (SAP) personnel.

Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the Jungle Mahal Area (leftist extremism), 602 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CRPF, BSF, CISF, SSB, ITBP, RPF, RAF) and state armed 111 companies of the police have been deployed for election protection. Apart from this, local armed police forces have also been deployed.
