Supporters of Communist Party of India candidate from Bihar's Begusarai Lok Sabha seat, Kanhaiya Kumar and a group of locals clashed on Sunday after the former JNU students' union president was shown black flags at him during a roadshow according to the police at the event.


Kanhaiya Kumar is a former President of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union. He is also a leader of the All India Students Federation (AISF), a left-wing students organization which is considered to be close to the Communist Party of India (CPI).
The incident occurred when more than 12 local youths raised slogans against Kanhaiya Kumar and waved black flags at him during his roadshow at Koray village in Gadhpura block of the constituency.
Reportedly, a police team reached the spot and brought the situation under control however, no FIR has been lodged in this connection so far.
Kumar is contesting against Union minister and firebrand BJP leader Giriraj Singh.
