Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi may contest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.  Priyanka has given a go-ahead,as the decision is made by Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi had said that she is ready, the decision has to be made by the party on the question of contesting elections during a roadshow. It is being told that most of the Congress leaders agree that Priyanka Gandhi should contest from Varanasi against Modi. This will not only make the atmosphere in favour of Congress in Purvanchal but in Uttar Pradesh.

Political experts believe that this time the election is exactly the opposite of 2014. There was a Modi wave in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, which also showed the effect of Varanasi seat, but this time it is not so. In terms of statistics, in 2014, Arvind Kejriwal got 2,09,238 votes, Congress candidate Ajay Rai got 75,614 votes, BSP candidate Vijay Prakash Jaiswal got 60,579 votes.

It is speculated that if the opposition comes together and supports Priyanka Gandhi, the fight will definitely be a collision. By the way, the alliance has already refused to support the Congress at any other seat except Rae Bareli and Amethi.
