Since Congress released the NYAY scheme in its manifesto, it has been a subject of criticism from BJP. Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that the scheme was finalised only after consulting experts.

The scheme guarantees to deposit Rs 72,000 annually to the 20% poor Indian families. The Congress Chief claimed that he is here for the long haul and is not interested in telling lies like PM Modi. Gandhi said the promise of Rs 72,000 to the poor families per year under the NYAY scheme was made only after speaking to experts. The party has also released a FAQ which solves most of the doubts regarding the scheme

The Congress chief has assured that the implementation of the scheme will not affect the economy.
The scheme will be a "surgical strike on poverty", Gandhi said.
Lies get exposed, Gandhi said. While the Congress wants to work for the people of India, the BJP just makes hollow claims, he added.
Lashing out at Anil Ambani on the Rafale deal, Gandhi alleged that the industrialist lacks expertise in defence manufacturing, his businesses have failed and he has no money but still got the "biggest" defence contract. Ex-RBI governor, Raghuram Rajan had claimed two weeks ago that the scheme is doable and can be implemented.
