Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) chief Prakash Ambedkar on Thursday said that if he comes to power, his party will put the Election Commission in jail to ban the reference to the Pulwama attack during the elections.

Mr Ambedkar said, 'Armed forces are being sacrificed and the Election Commission is saying that we can not speak about the Pulwama attack but we will talk about it because the Constitution provides us freedom of speech.'

He said, 'The Election Commission has become a puppet in the hands of the BJP, and if our government comes to power, we will not sit quietly until the Election Commission is sent to the Election Commission for at least two days.'

Ambedkar was campaigning for Pravin Pawar, a candidate of the deprived Bahujan Agadi in Yavatmal parliamentary constituency. The father of the Constitution creator Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and former Lok Sabha MP Prakash Ambedkar has often been vocal against the BJP's ways.

Prakash Ambedkar is the grandson of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Solapur and Akola constituencies in Maharashtra.
