Bollywood actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha has been associated with BJP for about three decades however, he will be joining Congress at New Delhi on 28th March. Reportedly, he will the Party’s candidate from Patna Sahib.

Sinha is a two-term BJP Lok Sabha member from Patna Sahib. He was dropped by BJP who chose to field union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad from the seat.

He has been an open critic Modi and Amit Shah lately. There were speculations in the air that he would be joining the Congress which is an ally of the 'Mahagathbandhan'. According to sources, there was a conflict between the Congress and RJD over Sinha's candidature as Lalu Prasad's party, with which the 'Bihari Babu' shares cordial relations, was said to be keen on fielding him on its own symbol.

Whenever in alliance with RJD for Lok Sabha polls, Congress has been contesting from Patna Sahib. 

The sources didn’t respond to the questions about Kirti Azad, another BJP MP who recently joined the Congress saying he will be contesting elections.
Azad is serving his second consecutive term in the Lok Sabha from Darbhanga and the Congress is planning to have him fight from the seat as the constituency has a large population of Maithil Brahmins its traditional supporters.

Meanwhile, RJD has claimed that it has won the Darbhanga seat many times and would like to contest it again with giving candidature to its senior leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui.
