Karnataka Municipalities Minister C S Shivalli passed away in a hospital in Hubballi today. He suffered a massive heart attack and passed away on Friday. He was 58.
Shivalli, a legislator from Kundagol in Dharwad district, collapsed while talking to locals in the district. He was taken to the hospital where he breathed his last.
“My condolences to the family and supporters of Karnataka Minister Shri CS Shivalli. Shri Shivalli will be remembered for his service to Karnataka. May his soul rest in peace," Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter.
For the past three days, he was monitoring the rescue operation at the building that had collapsed in Dharwad. Shivalli was elected thrice from Kundgol constituency in Dharwad district.
Mr Shivalli was a three-time MLA from Kundagol constituency in Dharwad district. He won his first election as an independent candidate in 1999.
