Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress state president Kamal Nath have announced that former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh will contest from Madhya PraPradesh's 's Bhopal parliamentary constituency on Friday.

Chief Minister Kamal Nath said this at an event organized for journalists on Saturday that Mr  Digvijay Singh will fight from Bhopal. Mr Singh wanted to contest from Rajgarh,  but Nath had publicly asked him to choose one of the tough seats where the Congress has not won in three decades. Therefore the Congress' Central Election Committee has decided this. Bhopal is a parliamentary constituency that was not won by the Congress for a long time.

 Congress has released a list of 39 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. Congress has changed two candidates in Uttar Pradesh. State President Raj Babbar will now fight against Fatehpur Sikri in Moradabad. He made an appeal to change his seat. In his place, the Urdu poet  Imran Pratapgarhi will contest from Moradabad.  

The Congress had won three seats in the recent assembly elections from Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has 29 Lok Sabha seats. The Election Commission has announced that the state will see polling during the 4, 5, 6 and 7 phases of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

The dates of polling in the state are April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.
