Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Uttar Pradesh chief Mahendra Nath Pandey's daughter-in-law has announced that she is going to join in the Congress party. Amruta Pandey, who is Mahendra Nath Pandey's brother's daughter-in-law, will join the Congress on Wednesday (March 20) in presence of party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Chunar area of Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur district.
Addressing the media Amruta she spoke about her decision to join the Congress.
'Now that Priyanka Gandhi has officially entered the politics, I, too, have decided to join the Congress party. The coming phase is not of Prime Minister Narendra Modi but of the Congress. It is not even clear if the prime minister will contest the Lok Sabha election or not,'she said.
On the question of contesting the elections, Amrita Pandey said that we will accept whatever decision the Congress party will make, but for now, it is our motive to work closely with Priyanka Gandhi.
