With Lok Sabha elections coming nearer, PM Narendra Modi launched BJP's new campaign which went viral within minutes and topped global trends on Twitter.

PM Modi posted a video on his Twitter handle, which showed a diverse line-up of Indian citizens proud to be the chowkidars of their own homes, and ultimately, of the country with the message:

"Your Chowkidar is standing firm & serving the nation. But, I am not alone. Everyone who is fighting corruption, dirt, social evils is a Chowkidar. Everyone working hard for the progress of India is a Chowkidar. Today, every Indian is saying - #MainBhiChowkidar".

The video invited ordinary citizens to take an oral pledge. Using Social Media Marketing the Central government Party is using conversation cards on Twitter which will help supporters get a personalized Twitter message from the PM upon taking the pledge and supporting the campaign.

Back in 2014, the BJP had weaponized Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar's “chaiwaala” (tea-seller) comment into a potent slogan. Similarly, Congress President Rahul Gandhi's ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai' has been turned against the party.

As a party of the party campaign, the PM will be interacting with people from all over the country on March 31st.

The video was posted 5 hours ago and since then it has received 53,000 likes and more than 20,000 retweets.
