Palair's MLA K Upender Reddy met TRS Working president KT Rama Rao and has expressed his willingness to join TRS. The Congress candidate has defeated TRS party's important leader and minister Tummala Nageswara Rao in Palair.In the Assembly elections held last December, Mr. Upender defeated the former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.

Upender Reddy expressed that he is ready to join TRS for the development of his constituency. He said keeping in view the development of Khammam district and his constituency Palair, he had decided to support Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and join the TRS. He also went on to say that he does not know any leader like KCR  who has such complete understanding of Telangana state. Mr. Upender Reddy is the sixth Congress MLA to desert the party for the TRS. 

 Congress MLAs Athram Sakku (Asifabad), Rega Kantha Rao (Pinapaka), Banoth Haripriya (Yellendu) and Chirumarthi Lingaiah (Nakrekal)  had changed their party from Congress to TRS.
