Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal hits out at the Congress as the party took a formal decision today to not ally with his party in Delhi. The Congress is 'helping the BJP', he tweeted minutes after Sheila Dikshit said it was a 'unanimous decision' by the state Congress, which has been accepted by party chief Rahul Gandhi.

Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday announced that there will be no alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Delhi. The decision was taken in a meeting with the Delhi Congress leaders and Congress president Rahul Gandhi. This announcement comes after speculations of an alliance between Congress and AAP. The meeting called by Congress president Rahul Gandhi was to devise a strategy for the Lok Sabha elections.

He tweeted saying "At a time when the whole country wants to defeat Modi- Shah duo, Cong is helping BJP by splitting the anti-BJP vote. Rumours are that Cong has some secret understanding with BJP. Delhi is ready to fight against Cong-BJP alliance. People will defeat this unholy alliance".

Arvind Kejriwal had earlier said that they did try to convince the Congress for a pact in Delhi but the offer was declined. “If today our alliance with Congress is done, the BJP will lose all seven seats in Delhi,” the AAP chief had said.
