Former cricketer and MP Kirti Azad who has been suspended from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has joined in the Congress party on Monday in the presence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

There were speculations about the BJP MP Kirti Azad for a long time that he could join in the Congress. It is reported that as soon as they are included in the Congress, he will visit Mithilanchal and there the party workers will conduct a huge procession to welcome him.

He told that after joining the party, he will reach Darbhanga in his Lok Sabha constituency on February 18. After meeting with his supporters and party workers he will decide the strategy ahead.

Kirti Azad is the son of Bhagwat Jha Azad, former Chief Minister of Bihar. Kirti Azad, the cricketer-turned-politician, won the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Kirti Azad openly accused Union Minister Arun Jaitley of DDCA of alleged irregularities and corruption, after which the party had taken action against him and suspended him.
