Congress president Rahul Gandhi accused the PM of conducting "parallel negotiations" with Dassault Aviation on the Rafale fighter jet deal while addressing a public rally in Valsad district of Gujarat today.

The Congress President also claimed that the central government refused to waive farmers' loans but wrote off Rs 3.5 lakh crore debt of "15 top industrialists".

Gandhi further claimed that the Defence Ministry and the Air Force have said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted parallel negotiations with Dassault Aviation on Rafale deal.

Opposing the government's incentives to farmers announced in the interim budget, he promised that if his party will come to power in the centre, it will provide more than just Rs 17 per day in the income guarantee scheme directly in the bank accounts of the poor.

Rahul Gandhi has been continuously taking a dig at the Central government over the Rafale jet deal. On Tuesday, he accused Modi of acting as a middleman of industrialist Anil Ambani in the fighter jet agreement with France. Meanwhile, the government and Ambani have been strongly rejecting all accusations of any wrongdoing in the fighter jet deal.
