It is well known that the YSRCP has a strong hold over the Kadapa district, but according to recent reports, The Telugu Desam Party plans on overruling the YSRCP’s hold by wining maximum number of seats in the upcoming elections.
However, problems on the inside are turning out to be a hinderance in the successful execution of their plan. The most pressing issue being dealt with is regarding the assembly ticket of Jamalamadugu. Rama Subba Reddy, senior TDP leader, along with Adinarayana Reddy, Jamalamadugu MLA seem to be expressing resistance regarding obtainment of its assembly ticket. Although, Chandrababu Naidu’s decision seems final, pressure is still being put on him regarding the same.
The TDP Chief is apparently considering the allotment of the Jammalamadugu assembly to one leader and a Kadapa Lok Sabha seat to the other. The decision is yet to be made but will Chandrababu Naidu favour the sitting MLA? If that is the case, this could cause some friction amongst Rama Subba Reddy’s supporters who already want him to contest independently if he does not receive the ticket.
