Amravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. s. Jagan Mohan Reddy is one who is fulfilling his promises made during his paadayatra before 2019 elections and implementing schemes which are promised in the manifesto after coming to power. Now he has come up with another scheme in the name of “Jagananna Jeeva kranti” aiming at BC communities which are below poverty line. The scheme was launched on Thursday virtually from Tadepalli CM’s office.
BC, SC, STs women aged between 45 to 60 will get benefitted from the scheme. Under this scheme, a unit will have 14 lambs or goats (5–6 months of age separated from mother) and juveniles or goats (total 14 1). The cost of each unit has been fixed at Rs.75 lakh including transport and insurance cost. Beneficiaries can purchase any species of sheep such as Nellore Brown, Jodipi, Macharla Brown, Vizianagaram breeds, Black Bengal in goats, or native breeds. Government fixed a target that only one unit is distributed to each beneficiary.
The government came up with a transparent process sans corruption or manipulation in the process of purchase and distribution of these units. Sisters who have been given the SERP option by the prescribed procedures, two veterinarians, a SERP representative and a bank representative will go to the Farmer Assurance Center or Santa at a price determined by a five-member committee and inspect the animals and are purchased according to the interest of the beneficiary. State government has signed an MOU with Allana foods for the scheme implementation.
