Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy went into a huddle with his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekar Rao for nearly three hours here to discuss long pending issues between the sibling states.

Earlier in the day, YS Jagan called on Telangana Governor ESL Narsimhan for about an hour before heading to Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of Telangana CM. The chief ministers' meet assumes significance in the wake of an ensuing meeting convened by the Union Home Ministry in New Delhi with representatives from both states to work towards bringing closure to various outstanding issues.

On June 28, after YSRCP ascending to power in AP, both CMs and officials met for the first time to hold discussions in Hyderabad to resolve various issues concerning bifurcation. Majority of the discussion back then centred around amicably resolving interstate water disputes and how to harness Godavari waters for the benefit of farmers in the Telugu States.

AP Government Principal Advisor Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy, YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy, and TRS MP Santosh Reddy were also present in the discussion at Pragati Bhavan on Thursday.
