In his second edition of ‘Mann ki Baat’ after returning to power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday stressed on water conservation, drawing upon various examples of conservation efforts being undertaken by various states.
The PM praised Jharkhand for its appreciable efforts towards water conservation. He also made a special mention of the Haryana government for initiating measures that have helped farmers. He also cited futuristic water policy measures that Meghalaya has undertaken.
Modi said that “community efforts undertaken towards water conservation have been a great sign.”
Speaking on Chadrayaan 2, he emphasised that it was a 100% Indian mission which proved Indian scientists are among the best in the world. India must be proud of this grand space success that the entire world watched in awe, the PM said.
In his address, the Prime Minister also spoke on his pet Swachh Bharat project, citing instances of people going to great lengths to make the dream of clean India a reality.
PM Modi said the success of Chandrayaan-2 despite early setbacks was an unprecedented event. All would have felt immensely proud about India’s achievement beyond the skies, he said.
India is now eagerly waiting for September, when Lander Vikram & Rover Pragyan land on the lunar surface, the PM said.
The Prime Minister invited students to participate in a quiz competition and get an opportunity to visit Sriharikota, the spaceport where all of India’s space endeavours are launched from.
