Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hoped that all political parties will participate in the debate during the Parliament session.

Addressing media outside Parliament in New Delhi before the beginning of the first session of 17th Lok Sabha, Mr Modi said, the role of an Opposition and an active Opposition is important in a Parliamentary democracy.

He urged all MPs to think of the country when in the House and address issues related to the larger interest of the nation.

The Prime Minister said, his experience also suggests that when the Parliament functions smoothly, the Government is able to fulfil numerous aspirations of the people of India
