Congress president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to meet a Dalit gang-rape woman on Thursday, today.

According to party sources, she was allegedly gang-raped in front of her husband in Rajasthan's Alwar district.
The Party president was earlier scheduled to arrive on Wednesday but will be visiting on Thursday instead.

On 26th April, six miscreants accosted the woman and her husband on the Thanagazi-Alwar bypass and took them to an isolated place, where they allegedly raped her in front of him.

An FIR was lodged on 2nd May and the accused had circulated a video clip of the crime on 4th May.

After that, the five accused, who allegedly raped the woman, and the one who recorded the event and circulated it, were arrested.

The incident had triggered widespread protests in Alwar, Jaipur, Dausa and nearby areas leading to protest march led by BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena had turned violent in Dausa on Tuesday, leaving over half a dozen people injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BSP chief Mayawati and other leaders have condemned the incident.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and the party's state unit president and deputy CM Sachin Pilot will accompany Rahul on his visit.
