Ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, parties are leaving no stone unturned for rallies and public meetings to reach out to the public.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the state of Tirupura on 9 February to address a rally in Agartala. He will also inaugurate several projects including a railway line and a new block at Tripura Institute of Technology campus.

The new railway line, spanning 23 kilometres, will connect Garji to Belonia in South Tripura district.

Mr. Modi is also scheduled to unveil a statue of Tripura's former ruler Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya.

"A team of Special Protection Group arrived in Agartala on Tuesday for the PM’s programme. Apart from that, Tripura State Rifles personnel and police officers will be deployed in large numbers across Agartala to ensure his security," a source stated.

After unveiling the statue of Kishore Manikya, the last ruler of the state, the PM would arrive at Swami Vivekananda Maidan to address a public meeting.
