The Lok Sabha Elections are around the corner and parties have started making their promise. Recently Rahul Gandhi, the President of Indian National Congress announced that if his party will be elected in the upcoming elections of Lok Sabha, he will ensure a minimum income for the poor people. He said that this decision will help everyone in the nation get a  fixed minimum income and will ensure the steps towards eradication of poverty.

Sheila Dixit,  former Delhi Chief Minister and current Delhi Congress chief praised Rahul Gandhi for his announcement calling it a historic decision. She said that they will fulfil their promises and won't act like the ruling party.

"We are Congress, we deliver on what we say. We have never made a promise on something we didn't deliver", she added.

Mr.Gandhi alleged that the current Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi still hasn't fulfilled the promises he made before the 2014 elections specifically being, the eradication of black money, Rs. 15 lakh in everyone’s bank account along with giving jobs to 2 crore people

In the run-up assembly polls last year, Congress had apparently promised farmers that their loans will be waived if the party will come to power.

After winning the polls in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, Congress fulfilled the promise by waiving the loans after forming governments in the state.
